Foundation Thang visits Nepal, 2023 – Thang Library Inaugurations

POKHARA

April 28 –  A formal Thang library inauguration program was held at Amaghar School in Pokhara. Marleen and Anuradha attended the program.  

Achievement:

• A beautiful library has been set up in cooperation with Foundation Light of Life & De Wilde Ganzen (sponsors)  in Amaghar school.

JHAPA

May 19 – A formal Thang library inauguration program was held at Laxmi Narayan Adharbhoot School in Birtamode, Jhapa. Linda also joined this trip along with Marleen and Anuradha. We could realize this library with the support of Foundation Jacoba van Wassenaer Fonds and De Wilde Ganzen.  

Achievements

• The program was a huge success and it also received a lot of local media attention.
• There was participation of not only students and teachers but also a large number of parents.
• Received positive feedback from the participants who had attended the library management training conducted by Thang.
• The school was given a one-year subscription to Kid’s Insider magazine.

KATHMANDU

May 25 – A formal Thang library inauguration program was held at Himalaya Waldorf School in Kathmandu. Marleen, Linda and Anuradha were present in the program. This library is sponsored by Foundation Kinderen van de Evenaar, Foundation Diyo, Foundation Thang & De Wilde Ganzen. In the openings ceremony, a class wise story telling was also held. This library looks a bit different, because it’s a round space.

HARIPUR

This library is realised by Foundation Thang. The sponsors are Foundation 2 van de 52 & De Wilde Ganzen. The library is now in combination with the office, the office will move to another space in 2024.

FOLLOW-UP VISIT TUNGARA (realised in 2022)

The participants of the school provided positive feedback of the library management training conducted by Thang. Thang will provide another set of books to the library as one year is over, because made an agreement that if they are doing well, they get the right of 8% book refreshment. They did very well, so they get the new books! The school was also given a one-year subscription to Kid’s Insider magazine.
